THE ROOTS OF OUR PRODUCT
Double L Farms was founded by Russell Lamb and Charley Layman. Both grew up in rural East Tennessee where farming played a significant role in the lives of their families and the community. The Great Smoky Mountains provide a beautiful backdrop for the lush pastures of our East Tennessee home. Double L Farms was started to help reverse the direction that the American food system is headed and after seeing the struggles of the local farmers and the negative impact the now idle farms are having on the local economy. The decision was made to do something to help. Purchasing the farm in 2018 was the first step in making a difference and giving back to the community they grew up in. The farm is a place where our cattle can enjoy the green grass of the pastures along the Nolichucky River. Double L Farms will supply the highest quality, flavorful and nutritious locally raised grass-fed beef to foodservice distributors, restaurants, grocery stores, and other retail businesses. We are a family-owned business with a focus on our customers and not on stockholders. We are passionate about giving back to our East Tennessee communities.
